Gabriella Cullen, born Gabriella Mia Cullen in 1984, is a vampire and a member of the Olympic Coven. She is the adoptive daughter to Carlisle and Esme Cullen. She is the adoptive sister to Emmett, Edward and Alice Cullen, as well as Jasper and Rosalie Hale. She is the sister-in-law to Bella Swan, and adoptive aunt to Renesmee Cullen. When Gabriella became a vampire, she gained the ability to mentally control any function of the brain such as reading thoughts, putting thoughts into other people’s heads and locking someone within their own mind.

He helped her throughout the pregnancy, and although it wasn’t his child, he promised to help Rosemary with whatever she needed. Over the next few months, Rosemary and Justin grew close. They had been friends since the time they had been able to walk, but throughout their years of high school, they went their separate ways. A few days before Rosemary’s due date, she received the tragic news that Justin had died. Police had come to her house and informed her that Justin had been caught in the middle of a shop robbery and was shot. He died before medical officers were able to take him to the hospital. Rosemary, who was struck with grief on the sudden and unexpected death of the man whom she was slowly falling in love with once again, went into an early labour.
On the 18th May in 1984, Rosemary gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, however tragically, Rosemary was unable to hold, let alone see her daughter, as she passed away in childbirth. The baby was filed into the adoption agency, though was kept at the hospital under the care of trained nurses due to her young age. A few months later, she was adopted by Carlisle and Esme Cullen.

As she saw this as her once, and perhaps only chance, to experience life as a mother. Jasper wasn’t fully against the idea, but he wasn’t happy with it either. He was concerned on how he was going to be with controlling his bloodlust around a human that he could easily kill in mere seconds. After receiving a few positive visions on the newest addition to the family, Alice was thrilled with Esme and Carlisle’s plans. Emmett was overly excited about the prospect of a new little sister. In his human life he had been the eldest of seven children, and had confided in Esme that from time to time he greatly missed the brothers and sisters that he had been forced to leave behind.
And so shortly after this, Carlisle and Esme made their way towards the adoption agency. The couple spent the few two days looking at toddlers and babies that were looking for a home. Esme’s heart gave out to all of the children she laid eyes upon, and if she could have her way, she would have taken each and every single one of them home. However, he was more concerned if the word of a human being adopted by vampires would reach the Volturi. He spent a lot of his time in his room, and didn't dare look or talk to Gabriella whenever she entered the room. Jasper on the other hand, had learnt to accept Gabriella into the family, however he still kept his distance. Spending almost a century feeding on the blood of humans and killing newborns had turned Jasper into a savage. Gabriella’s blood was extremely tempting to him, but he refused himself to kill her. He knew that if he slipped and killed Gabriella, he would hurt everyone in the family, especially Alice.

Gabriella was always excited for family holidays, especially Christmas. It was exceptionally hard to get her to sleep the night before, as her mind was always wondering what types of toys she was going to get. Finally when Christmas came, Gabriella raced downstairs, calling the names of her family, as she scanned the wrapped up boxes scattered among the living room floor.

But when Gabriella was confused at how her parents could be vampires and she was human, Carlisle and Esme were forced to reveal that she was adopted. Much to Carlisle’s and Esme’s surprise, Gabriella handled the news perfectly well. She didn't care if she was adopted, or if her family were a bunch of vampires. From the years she spent growing and loving the family who did nothing but love and raise her, Gabriella knew she wouldn't want any other family, but the one she had now. After the family secret was revealed, it was much more easier for the Cullen’s to act themselves around Gabriella. At first, Gabriella felt uneasy around the inhuman speed that her parents and siblings used around her, as well as knowing that some of them possessed supernatural talents, but she eventually got herself used to it.

She constantly amazed Carlisle and Esme with how much knowledge she held inside her little mind. At home, Gabriella occupied herself with playing and hanging out with her elder siblings. KEEPING UP APPEARANCES
"I don't get why we have to move. I mean sure, you don't age and people are starting to notice, but why not just dye your hair white? And Alice is a make up artist, she could draw some wrinkles on your face. Aging problem solved!"
When Gabriella turned thirteen, she had to leave her friends behind and move to another town. Edward had caught the thoughts of a few humans being cautious on their aging, which has of course forced the Cullen’s to move in order to keep up their appearance. The Cullen kids, including Gabriella of course, enrolled at the local high school. There, Gabriella met many new friends, and fitted in exceptionally well into her new school. Not wanting to give up her love of dancing, Gabriella managed to find a dancing school not too far away from where she lived. Carlisle and Esme enrolled Gabriella at the school, and she was more than pleased to know that she was able to continue her dreams of being a professional dancer. She was often caught a few times practising dance moves in her room, although she was never afraid to get up and dance for people. Gabriella had a such strong sense of confidence that she felt almost powerful to do anything.
One day after dance practice, when Gabriella was waiting for Alice to pick her up, she met a boy called Mark. He was apart of the football team that did their football training directly across from the dance studio. At first Gabriella assumed that Mark was new to town, however that thought passed once he explained that he went to a private school. The two bumped into each other again and again, first at the local shopping centre, and again after dance/football practice. It wasn’t long before Mark built up the courage to ask Gabriella out on a date. Alice and Rosalie gave Gabriella a make out, and dressed her up beautifully (not that she wasn’t beautiful). Their first date spark a sense of romance between the two, and before long, Gabriella and Mark were officially a couple. They hung out and did stuff together like any normal teenage couple. Carlisle and Esme approved of Matt dating their youngest due to his mature and respectable personality. Although, Matt did tend to feel slightly uncomfortable around Gabriella’s older brothers. She flushed with embarrassment when Emmett, Edward and Jasper gave Matt the ‘if you hurt my sister, I’ll kill you’ talk. Gabriella and Mark had a strong relationship over the next two years. Alice and Esme often gushed about how cute Gabriella and Mark were together. But Gabriella didn’t care. She was just happy that she had someone as special as Mark in her life, and knew she wouldn’t want it any other way.
UNFORGETTABLE NIGHTMARE

Shortly after Gabriella’s sixteenth birthday (where she received a number of gifts from her family, including a necklace from Edward that belonged to his mother), she was invited by Mark to a party that was being hosted by one of the kids at his school. Being a good daughter, she confronted Carlisle and Esme on the party that Mark invited her too. She begged them to let her go to the party, and even promised that they could pick a curfew for her. After much talk and discussion, Gabriella was finally allowed to go to the party. Emmett on the other hand put up an argument on allowing Gabriella to go to the party. Although he trusted Mark and knew he wouldn’t let anything happen to Gabriella, Emmett didn’t want to risk the possibility of his baby sister getting hurt. This lead to a fight between Emmett and Gabriella.
After having her hair and make up done by Alice, Gabriella quickly met up with Mark and starts having a good time. She is introduced to a number of new friends, and spent hours dancing on the dance floor. It was at the party that Gabriella was introduced to Trent - Mark’s older brother. He, like Mark, was charming and polite. He made Gabriella laugh, and kept her company when Mark was gone. Sometime during the party, when the music was blaring so loudly that Gabriella couldn’t hear herself talk, Trent asked Gabriella if she wanted to go outside and get some fresh air. She agreed, and followed Trent away from the party. At first things were good between the two. Gabriella enjoyed having the company of Trent, as he very easily made her laugh. However, it didn’t take long for her to notice that he was actually flirting with her. She tried to ignore that thought, however Trent started making inappropriate comments on her body. Feeling disgusted at his sudden change in behaviour, Gabriella excused herself from Trent and went on to return to the party. However, she was unable to fulfil her journey back when Trent grabbed her from behind, dragging her to the ground. When Gabriella resisted Trent, and attempted to get away from him, he beat her. The stench of alcohol was strong on his breathe - Gabriella could smell it when he pressed his lips onto hers. Gabriella’s screams quickly filled the night as Trent forced himself onto her. The music blaring from the stereos at the party muffled Gabriella’s screams from reaching anyone. Trent was rough with Gabriella, and continually smacked or hit her every time she tried to call for help or get away. As soon as Trent was finished with Gabriella, she made the attempt to get away, and she did.
Tears streamed down her face as she rushed through the party, pushing people out of the way as she tried to get to her car. Mark caught sight of Gabriella in tears, and rushed over to her side. As soon as he touched her, she let out a piercing scream and pushed him back. Concerned greatly for Gabriella and not knowing why she was crying, Mark rushed after her. However, he was unable to find out what had happened before she got into her car and sped off away from the party. Time went impossibly slow for Gabriella as she tried to get home. Every muscle in her body ached, and she was in a great amount of physical and emotional pain.
By the time Gabriella had reached home, she was already in a mess. Her make up was ruined by her tears and a slight off colouring was already taking shape on her face from where Trent hit her. Before Gabriella even got out of the car, Edward was already on the scene having heard her frantic cries and smelling the blood coming from her cuts. He tried to get her to calm down, but after the incident that Gabriella had just endured, she felt as though it was almost impossible to calm down. Even when Carlisle, Esme and Emmett came to her aid, it was impossible for Gabriella to calm down and stop crying. Jasper was bombarded with Gabriella’s fear and high anxiety that he almost knelt over in pain with the constant wave of emotions. Edward attempted to read her mind but was unable too due to her blurred and jumble thoughts. She refused to let anyone but Rosalie touch her, having known that Rosalie had gone through exactly what she had went through. Rosalie came and carried Gabriella inside into the living room, where the rest of her family members demanded to know what happened. Unable to hold her thoughts off any longer, Gabriella’s mind quickly became filled with Trent as he touched her, hit her, and raped her. Edward let out an enraged roar as her thoughts filled his mind. A similar roar also left Jasper and Emmett as Edward explained what happened to Gabriella. Rosalie felt her heart shatter when she found out that Gabriella had faced the same fate that she had. Gabriella refused to let Rosalie go. She sobbed endlessly into her shoulder, and held a death grip onto her.
At first, Gabriella refused to go to hospital (all she wanted to do was same at home), but when she started claiming of feeling dizzy, weak, and blurred vision, Carlisle ignored her demands of staying home, and took her to the hospital. Knowing that running would be faster than driving, Carlisle carried his youngest daughter all the way to the hospital. Gabriella passed out before she reached the hospital. After a blood test was done it was confirmed that Gabriella had been slipped the date rape drug. When she woke up, Gabriella was examined by Carlisle (she refused to have another doctor touch her). Her face and body were covered with bruises that were slowly starting to take on a yellow, purple colouring to them. At the hospital, Gabriella apologised to Emmett for not listening to him. He had been the one who didn’t want Gabriella to attend the party but she didn’t listen to him. She felt as though this was all her fault because she wanted to do something her way. Emmett ignored her attempts of trying to apologised. He said that nothing that happened was ever her fault.
The police were called to the hospital as Gabriella needed to make a statement. Although Edward made the statement for her because she couldn’t even think about the rape without bursting into tears. Police went to Trent’s house and arrested him on the spot. He was sentenced to four years in jail. Mark tried contacting and visiting Gabriella, however she refused to see him. With Mark’s strong resemblance to his older brother Trent, it was almost like she could almost see Trent coming after her once again. Her anxiety and fear consumed Gabriella, and she called off the relationship.
Over the next few nights upon returning home, Gabriella quickly showed signs of trauma. Almost every night her dreams were plagued with nightmares of the night Trent raped her. She would dream that he had found her, and made a second attempt to rape her. Gabriella would either be woken up by her piercing screams, or by her parents and/or siblings waking her up from her nightmare. Her bruises eventually healed over the next few weeks but her anxiety quickly lead to Gabriella being depressed and developing an eating disorder. She rapidly lost weight, and gained an almost breakable figure. Carlisle and Esme were deeply concerned for Gabriella’s health. Gabriella knew she was getting sick, mentally and physically, and no matter how hard she wanted to listen to her parents protests on getting her to eat, Gabriella couldn’t bring herself to listen.
Since the night of the rape, Gabriella was hardly left alone. She spent most of her time with Rosalie, and Jasper because of his special ability to calm her down. When Gabriella refused to sleep in fear of having nightmares, Jasper would stay with her, and use his ability to comfort her through the night. She went to therapy to deal with her stress and anxiety, but Gabriella showed weak signs of improvement. She didn’t seem to have the courage to do anything anymore. That bubbly girl that once had an air of confidence about her, and wasn’t afraid to do anything was now gone. Gabriella quickly turned into a quiet, shy girl with low self esteem.
When Alice was looking into Gabriella’s future, she received an alarming vision of Gabriella slowly loosing the will to live. This would eventually lead to Gabriella’s break down, and death. During one of the family meetings, Alice told Gabriella and the rest of the Cullen’s of her alarming visions involving Gabriella. Knowing that she wouldn’t have much of a choice, Gabriella brought up the idea of being turned into a vampire. Throughout her years of living with her family, since finding out that they were vampires, she never really thought about if she wanted to become what they were. The thought or need to fit in never crossed her mind. After much talk and discussion, the settlement of Gabriella turning into a vampire was arranged. The following week, after Gabriella woke up from her last sleep, she was turned by Carlisle. The same as any other human suffering the fate of transforming into a vampire, Gabriella endured three days of excruciating pain. The flames filling her body seemed to be burning endlessly. On the final day, Gabriella awoke as a newborn vampire.
At first, when her gift was discovered, it was assumed that Gabriella was a mind reader like Edward. However, as the days and weeks went past, Gabriella also discovered that she could do much more than read minds. She was able to plant her own thoughts into other people’s heads, make them see and believed what she wanted them to think. She could also lock someone within their own mind (but to a human, it resulted with them going into a coma). Edward helped Gabriella through controlling her ability. At first she couldn’t handle it, and felt as though she was going insane with all the thoughts bombarding her mind, but with the help of Edward, she eventually learnt to control it. Much to Jasper’s surprise, Gabriella held perfect control over her bloodlust. During her first month of being a newborn, Gabriella held enough resistance to walk down a street full of humans without feeling the need to drain their blood.

Police went to Trent’s house and arrested him on the spot. He was sentenced to four years in jail. Mark tried contacting and visiting Gabriella, however she refused to see him. With Mark’s strong resemblance to his older brother Trent, it was almost like she could almost see Trent coming after her once again. Her anxiety and fear consumed Gabriella, and she called off the relationship.

Over the next few nights upon returning home, Gabriella quickly showed signs of trauma. Almost every night her dreams were plagued with nightmares of the night Trent raped her. She would dream that he had found her, and made a second attempt to rape her. Gabriella would either be woken up by her piercing screams, or by her parents and/or siblings waking her up from her nightmare. Her bruises eventually healed over the next few weeks but her anxiety quickly lead to Gabriella being depressed and developing an eating disorder. She rapidly lost weight, and gained an almost breakable figure. Carlisle and Esme were deeply concerned for Gabriella’s health. Gabriella knew she was getting sick, mentally and physically, and no matter how hard she wanted to listen to her parents protests on getting her to eat, Gabriella couldn’t bring herself to listen.
Since the night of the rape, Gabriella was hardly left alone. She spent most of her time with Rosalie, and Jasper because of his special ability to calm her down. When Gabriella refused to sleep in fear of having nightmares, Jasper would stay with her, and use his ability to comfort her through the night. She went to therapy to deal with her stress and anxiety, but Gabriella showed weak signs of improvement. She didn’t seem to have the courage to do anything anymore. That bubbly girl that once had an air of confidence about her, and wasn’t afraid to do anything was now gone. Gabriella quickly turned into a quiet, shy girl with low self esteem.

When Alice was looking into Gabriella’s future, she received an alarming vision of Gabriella slowly loosing the will to live. This would eventually lead to Gabriella’s break down, and death. During one of the family meetings, Alice told Gabriella and the rest of the Cullen’s of her alarming visions involving Gabriella. Knowing that she wouldn’t have much of a choice, Gabriella brought up the idea of being turned into a vampire. Throughout her years of living with her family, since finding out that they were vampires, she never really thought about if she wanted to become what they were. The thought or need to fit in never crossed her mind. After much talk and discussion, the settlement of Gabriella turning into a vampire was arranged. The following week, after Gabriella woke up from her last sleep, she was turned by Carlisle. The same as any other human suffering the fate of transforming into a vampire, Gabriella endured three days of excruciating pain. The flames filling her body seemed to be burning endlessly. On the final day, Gabriella awoke as a newborn vampire.
At first, when her gift was discovered, it was assumed that Gabriella was a mind reader like Edward. However, as the days and weeks went past, Gabriella also discovered that she could do much more than read minds. She was able to plant her own thoughts into other people’s heads, make them see and believed what she wanted them to think. She could also lock someone within their own mind (but to a human, it resulted with them going into a coma). Edward helped Gabriella through controlling her ability. At first she couldn’t handle it, and felt as though she was going insane with all the thoughts bombarding her mind, but with the help of Edward, she eventually learnt to control it. Much to Jasper’s surprise, Gabriella held perfect control over her bloodlust. During her first month of being a newborn, Gabriella held enough resistance to walk down a street full of humans without feeling the need to drain their blood.

"It's not just you, and Alice. I'm-I'm picking up thoughts from other people's houses. I can hear them all, they're all in my head and they won't go away."
Some vampires gain a special ability when they get turned into a vampire. When Gabriella was turned into a vampire, she gained the ability to mentally control any function of the brain. At first, her gift was assumed to be mind reading like Edward, however as the weeks went past, Gabriella eventually discovered that she could do much more than read minds. Her gift of controlling brain functions including Gabriella being able to:
● Hear thoughts over a five mile radius.
● Plant thoughts into the minds of humans and vampires. Making them believe and/or see what she wanted them to think.
● Lock someone with their own mind. But when used on a human, it sends them into a coma.
● Scan the minds of humans and vampires for memories. Although this process can be painful for those who resist.
The only person who is immune to her gift is Bella Swan.
